McGrath Teacher Lisa Hastings recognized by Office Max with "A Day Made Better" award
Fourth grade teacher, Lisa Hastings, received special recognition at an all-school assembly on Tuesday. She was honored by Office Max’s “A Day Made Better” program. Kathleen Behrmann nominated Lisa for this honor. She recognized Lisa for both her talents as a teacher and her year-round efforts to maintain the school’s Living Classroom and Anniversary Garden. Office Max annually recognizes more than a thousand teachers across the country for their exceptional contributions as educators. Appropriately named “A Day Made Better” because each recipient receives essential classroom supplies absolutely free. Studies show that the average teacher spends $1000 of their own money on school supplies. Lisa received a bouquet of flowers, a leather chair and a huge box packed with Office Max school supplies. In addition, the community donated $1200 worth of supplies.
